Why do I have to sell this? The product should sell itself.

You might resonate with the above, especially if you’re an introvert founder like me. It’s a deadly trap.

A sales call is where you’ll discover true insights. The best feedback is given when someone is asked to pull out their wallet. Those concerns carry the utmost weight. Everything else is fluff.

You can bitch about it. You can call it unfair. You can flip tables. At the end of the day, it is what it is. Naive. You’ll realize this sooner or later. Escaping this mindset is a rite of passage.

Q. But sales is hard.
A. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.

Q. I don’t like sales.
A. Honestly, who cares?
